SYN ROBERTSON

FOUNDER/
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

I launched Revitalzing Veterans' Dreams

after a personal experience with a suicide, March 5, 2023

Which made it clear that my community - my Peeps are not OK.

Although I am not a veteran myself, I've always been up front about that. My connection to the military is through my youngest sibling, who enlisted in the Marine Corps shortly before our birthday September 22, 2001. First tour to Iraq began shortly after boot camp. This close connection to the military has driven me to focus on supporting veterans in ways that can Revitalize their sense of purpose and hope in their lives.

BOARD MEMBER

Hi! I am an active member of the military and have known Syn since 2019 where we were both a part of the North Star Roller Derby! My favorite memory of Syn was when I told her that she was what my Grandmas had warned me about while growing up - her derby name was Deadly Syn!

I first became involved with Revitalizing Veterans' Dreams because of how motivated and passionate Syn is about the overall mission of helping Vet's achieve their dreams. We both have an eye for different things, and I was able to help in contributing to creating the Logo.

Veterans have so many options for support but only ONE cheerleader - Syn and ReVD! We want to help you discover your dreams again and remember that every day is a new day to dream big and aim high!

JANICE SOULE

BOARD MEMBER

Hello! I currently reside in Chaska with my husband and two daughters, but grew up in WI (GO PACK GO!). I grew up in a family where veterans were held in high regard, I had several family members who have served over the years in WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

I lived in a small town with an active American Legion that was a large part of our community. They led our parades, held community events, and encouraged students at our high school to volunteer at the VA hospital. Although those veterans have passed, I still keep those memories near and dear to my heart.

I am excited to see what impact we can have on veterans through Revitalizing Veterans' Dreams. I pray that our country never forgets their service and continues to honor them for the sacrifices that they have made.

NICK GERACE

BOARD MEMBER

I wanted to be on the board of Revitalizing Vetereans' Dreams as I am passionate about making sure that those who served our nation are never left behind.

I met Syn oddly enough doing something I almost never do...

Going out for pizza!? My family really wanted to go out to get pizza, and we stopped into Detellos. There happened to be a flyer for the 9/11 WOD in the park 2023, and my wife said "that looks fun you should go." From that moment on, I couldn't shake Syn.

SHELLY STORMS-FRUEHLING

BOARD MEMBER

My passion for serving on this board comes from my deep love for veterans, especially inspired by both of my grandfathers who served. The memory of 9/11 is still etched in my mind, fueling my desire to give back.

I love Revitalizing because it provides a much-needed family and support system for so many, both before and after they enter the service. At my first Revitalizing event, I was asked if I was Syn’s sister numerous times—apparently, our energy and loudness match! Meeting her felt like fate. When I told my mother about meeting her, she said, 'You mean Syn, my trainer for the past two years?' What?! That moment confirmed this partnership was meant to be. I’m excited to bring my passion for veterans and a sense of purpose to this board.
